Process Quality Engineer

Job Duties: The experienced Process Quality Engineer will support launch, production and delivery of a new automotive electrical vehicle propulsion system.  Ideal candidate will have practical floor experience with TS16949 and the APQP process including PPAP.  Must have experience with leading 8D problem solving activities with cross-functional teams while applying advanced quality tools.

Minimum Requirements:

•    BS degree (EE preferred)
•    5 - 8 years experience in a Quality Engineering field
•    3 years of Automotive manufacturing experience (EV highly preferred)
•    Strong analytical skills for failure analysis and problem solving.
•    Experience with SPC, Capability Studies, Six Sigma, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
•    Ability to review processes to determine and create mistake-proofing tooling/gages.
•    Experience in achieving and maintaining quality goals and driving continuous                 improvement activities.
•    Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to motivate and elicit work output.
•    Direct customer support on existing programs and new programs.
•    Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles
•    ASQ CQE certification preferred but not required.

Software Engineer III

Job Duties: Creating new and enhancing existing control strategies for UQM's line of permanent magnet brushless DC electrical motor controllers; testing and debugging of controller firmware on the dynamometer and in vechicles; developing control firmware for other UQM products such as sensorless motors, DC-AC inverters; using and maintaining MATLAB/Simulink/TLC automated code generation tools; assist in the support of existing embedded software products; improve the software development process; develop software tools for internal use.

Tools used: MATLAB, Visual Studio, C programming, C++ programming, coding DSP algorithms
using C & C++.

Minimum Education: Master of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:  None.

Other Special Requirements: Must be proficient in tools: MATLAB, Visual Studio,C programming, C++ programming, coding DSP algorithms using C & C++.  Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training and experience.
