Power Electronics and Controls Development

Our power electronics development laboratory is outfitted with the latest fabrication, test and debug equipment. It has the capability to build and test prototype analog, digital circuits, and power systems.

We follow the AIAG’s (Automotive Industry Action Group) product development guidelines defined in the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan), PPAP (Production Part Approval Plan), and THE (Truck and Heavy Equipment) documents when developing, validating, and manufacturing our power electronic devices.

In addition to its proprietary design tools, our power electronics and controls department uses a variety of commercial software packages including: 

UQM
  • P-CAD for schematic capture
  • PCB design and auto routing
  • Micro-Cap for electrical circuit analysis
  • Mathematica for system simulation
  • Mathcad for system simulation
