UQM Technologies Announces Appointment of Douglas K. Smeltzer as National Product Sales Manager of UQM Power Products, Inc. |

FREDERICK, COLORADO, NOVEMBER 9, 2005 ... UQM TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (AMEX:UQM), a developer of alternative energy technologies, announced today that it has appointed Douglas K. Smeltzer to the newly created position of National Product Sales Manager for its wholly-owned manufacturing subsidiary UQM Power Products, Inc. Mr. Smeltzer will report to Vice President of Operations, Ronald Burton. “We are pleased that Doug has joined UQM Power Products, Inc. where he will be responsible for sales of UQM® motors and electronic products in commercial markets across the United States and Canada,” said UQM Technologies’ Vice President of Operations, Ronald Burton. “Doug has over eighteen years of proven product sales and marketing experience in the motor industry. We believe Doug’s motor industry experience will allow him to be a major contributor in pursuing and winning volume production contracts.” Mr. Smeltzer’s prior product sales and marketing experience includes six years with Stature Electric, Inc., a high volume motor supplier to the industrial markets, where he served as Regional Sales Manager, twelve years with Owosso Corporation, a high volume motor supplier to the industrial markets, where he served as Director of Marketing and Sales Manager for the motor products division and four years with Franklin Electric, where he served as a Sales Engineer. Mr. Smeltzer holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Goshen College. UQM Technologies, Inc. is a developer and manufacturer of power dense, high efficiency electric motors, generators and power electronic controllers for the automotive, aerospace, medical, military and industrial markets.
