UQM Technologies Delivers Motor/Generator System for Long-Haul Class 8 Hybrid Truck Application
 
 

FREDERICK, COLORADO, NOVEMBER 14, 2006… UQM TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (AMEX: UQM), a developer of alternative energy technologies, announced today that it has delivered a permanent magnet motor/generator system for application in a long-haul Class 8 hybrid truck.  The custom UQM® motor/generator system will be integrated into a transmission and provide power generation and electric propulsion assist to the truck’s diesel engine.

Commenting on the delivery, William G. Rankin, UQM Technologies’ President and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are pleased that our electric motor/generator system was selected for this class 8 hybrid truck development program.  Expanding the application of our electric propulsion systems  to long-haul class 8 trucks presents us with an exciting opportunity to further demonstrate improved fuel efficiency in this large and highly visible market segment.”
